NFL Preseason Scores – NY Jets Struggle, 49ers Look Impressive!
The NFL preseason action continued on Friday night with six games and not all was good, especially the quarterback play with the NY Jets and Arizona Cardinals.
The Cincinnati Bengals began right where they left off last season as they opened up the 2012-13 preseason with a 17-6 victory over the NY Jets. Quarterback Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez combined for just 48 yards passing and one interception in the loss, but it wasn't all good news for the Bengals in the win as Cincinnati lost four starters on defense with injuries in the first-half.
San Francisco was another team that surprised last year and the 49ers looked very impressive Friday as the team looked good on both sides of the ball in a 17-6 win over Minnesota. Alex Smith went 3-3 and a touchdown in the team's opening drive and the defense was extremely tough in allowing just over 200 yards and two field goals.
In other NFL news from Friday, Miami Dolphins top pick Ryan Tannehill looked very good as the young quarterback passed for 167 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins loss to in-state rival Tampa Bay.
Football fans are finally getting a taste of America's top sport and while the regular season is still a few weeks off, it was good to see youngsters and veterans finally popping the pads and getting their final preparation in for the upcoming season.
