Oklahoma vs. Notre Dame Preview
A pivotal game goes down in college football this Saturday (October 27, 2012) when Oklahoma takes on Notre Dame. Both teams have looked very impressive as of late, which should make their game all the more entertaining. The winner of this game is one step closer at seizing their conference championship
dreams and maybe even a national title.
The Sooners come into this game with an overall record 5-1 and 3-1 in the Big 12. They are ranked eight in the nation right now, and they are coming off an impressive victory over Kansas with a final score of 52-7. In their win, Landry Jones went on to throw for 300 yards and had 3 touchdowns. It was an impressive performance
from Jones, and the Sooners will need him to keep up his stellar play if they want to pull off the upset.
Notre Dame comes into this game with an overall record 7-0. They are ranked fifth in the nation right now, and they are coming off a narrow victory over Brigham Young with a final score of 17-14. In their win, Theo Riddick went on to rush for 143 yards. They will need the same type of relentless rushing attack in order to control the clock and limit the amount of time that the Sooners are on the field.
This match up is key for both teams. For Oklahoma, they will Landry Jones to have a break out game and find the open receivers down field in order to pull off the upset. They certainly have one of the better offenses in college
football right now, and they will look to set the tempo early. For Notre Dame, they will need to control the clock with their rushing game, which is predicated on Theo Riddick. This will then open up the passing game for Junior quarterback Tommy Rees.
