College Football Power Rankings – Louisville Remains Undefeated With OT Win
The Louisville
Cardinals remained one of the few undefeated teams in college football after a thrilling 34-31 victory over Cincinnati in a clash between two of the top teams in the Big East Conference.
Louisville entered Friday nights contest 7-0 and ranked 16th in the nation, but the polls have shown little respect, mostly with the strength of schedule being rather soft. The win over the Bear Cats and a future meeting with undefeated Rutgers, could have one of these two schools from the Big East earning a big to a BCS bowl game.
Quarterback
Teddy Bridgewater led the Cardinals with 416 yards passing and two scores, but the defense was the key to the victory as they held Cincinnati to 353 yards and forced three turnovers, including a big interception in over-time that led to Louisville's win.
With just four games left in the 2012 college
football season, Louisville will need to stay sharp and hope for a couple big upsets before their clash with Rutgers. Good news for the team and fans is that most of the main players on the team return next year and that could have the Cardinals as a BCS title contender in 2013.
