![]() When Jason Clark took the podium to announce the New Milwaukee Mustangs Arena Football League Team their was a small group of folks looking on but oh what a group! Jim Foster, the creator of the Indoor Football concept was their looking on, he is a consultant working with the new owners of the Mustang. Making the journey into the frozen "Milwaukee" was AFL commissioner Jerry Kurz, new owner Chris Rebholz with Bob Landsee Head coach.
The Mustang’s released their schedule and have a tough eastern conference schedule to take on with the new Philly team owned by Ron Jaworski, who used to take snap’s from Coach Landsee in the NFL. With the Mustangs announcement the good times kept going when they announced a $5.00 ticket for children with a purchase of an adult ticket and the kicker is the seats can be in any seat in the arena. Back in the heyday the Mustangs averaged over 13,500 fans per game on their way to the top of the AFL. Looking at all the smiles on the faces of the team you had to think they were ready to go today, unfortunately that’s not the case there is a lot of hard work to get going. The team has no QB on staff that has ever thrown a pass in the AFL, they lost one of if not their top WR and big play guy’s Tiger Jones to Dallas who threw the franchise tag on him under some, shall we say we “unique” way. The Mustangs are back in business and are ready to get working. I hope Milwaukee embraces the team as they once did! Read more

During last week’s playoff game at the U.S. Cellular arena, the Commissioner of the Arena Football League, Jerry B. Kurz, took some time with the Milwaukee Sports Geeks to share some thoughts about the league, and the Milwaukee Iron.
The Milwaukee Iron will head to Spokane, Washington to take on the Shock as they continue their quest towards ArenaBowl XXIII. The Iron, before a crowd of 5,032 at the U.S. Cellular Arena on Saturday night defeated the Chicago Rush 64-54. In a classic arena football style game, the Iron came up with spectacular offensive scores, coupled with a defense that put pressure on Rush quarterback J.J. Raterink all evening to come up with a win and be one of only four teams still standing in the AFL.
