How do the Milwaukee Bucks handle their current wing situation?
The Milwaukee Bucks have had a disappointing season so far. That could change once Carlos Delfino gets back into the lineup. But what will the Bucks do with John Salmons and the now healthy Chris Douglas-Roberts. And also get Corey Maggette playing time without taking any time away from Carlos Delfino and the rest of the guys.
The Bucks starters will be Brandon Jennings, John Salmons, Carlos Delfino, Drew Gooden, and Andrew Bogut. The 6th Man being Corey Maggette, this means that CDR will likely be the last into the game (out of these guards/small forwards) but should still get solid minutes.
Delfino is the key to the Bucks success right now. He was shooting 37% from the three before the injury. And 42% from the field. Delfino also leads the Bucks in steals with 1.6 per game and a total of 11 in 7 games.
Maggette is another key because of his ability to get to the free throw line. The Bucks need to points badly and Maggette has gone 89 for 107 so far from the line. He is first in free throws per 48 minutes with 11.98. His 38% from the field is not too bad either, considering he puts up a lot of bad shots to get fouled.
Salmons is not playing too well for the Bucks this season. Only averaging about 13 a game but is shooting 36% from the three point line which is pretty good. If the Bucks are looking at making it through the first round, or right now even making it to the playoffs, Salmons will need to score about 18 points per game.
The Bucks need Salmons, Delfino, and Maggette to play, but do they need CDR?
Chris has been pretty good for the Bucks while Delfino is out. He has knocked down 4-11 three pointers which is 36% and also has knocked down 14-33 field goals which is 42%. Douglas-Roberts will get time because of this superb shooting. I may add to that, he is scoring 10.5 points a game.
Could this affect Keyon Dooling? The answer to that is yes it could. Dooling and Jennings play alongside each other quite a bit. If Skiles wants these others to get the right amount of minutes. It means that it could affect Jennings and Dooling at the same time because Skiles will have to take Jennings out to put Dooling in.
