Where Could Dwight Howard Land?

The hottest NBA trade rumors over the last two months surrounds Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic and what team he could eventually be playing for as the trade deadline approaches. Howard is in the last year of his contract, and it seems unlikely he will resign with the Magic and so the team needs to move him or risk getting nothing in return for the big man.

The New Nets and LA Lakers are the front-runners for the game's best center, but reports have at least eight teams showing interest and it could get very interesting over the next few weeks. Howard asked for a trade to New Jersey and the Nets do have the players to make such a deal happen, but an injury to Brooks Lopez has slowed the talks down and until Lopez shows he is healthy, it seems this deal is on the back-burners.
The LA Lakers probably have the best chance of landing Howard as the team has Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum for trade bait, but the Lakers need help in the back-court and that could see them looking elsewhere for help as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
Another scenario is that Orlando makes a move to bring in more talent and that has Howard re-thinking his trade stance and staying with the Magic. In either case, the league and its fans will know shortly what is happening as the team will need to act quickly or risk getting nothing in return and ruin the franchise for several years.
