MLB Opening Day
A right of spring, a rite of passage, a right to every man, woman and child to begin a year a new. And that is where we begin every April with a new feeling that this year will bring us anew year and a new team. We all feel our team will do better than last, or do we?
I have been a baseball fan since the day my father put a baseball in my hand some 40 years ago. I have been a Brewers fan since I new what a Milwaukee Brewer was...say 35 years now. I have seen the low’s 70’s and 90’s as well as the high’s, 1982 and 2008. So I consider myself a brewers true blue fan.
Side story; I can remember going to opening day 1999 for my bachelor party and the weather being BARELY above freezing. Our team of fans were so warm on the inside that one of us, (Dustin) even threw caution to the wind and strolled around in shorts, soccer shorts…bbbrrrrr.
Here in Milwaukee we used to go to County Stadium with the hope it would not snow on opening day. We still do but at least with Miller park we now have a roof over the field and the stadium and keeps comfy and content in case of mother nature being upset with us.
So the right of passage is here, the Brewers in my opinion are in the top 2 teams in the National league Central division. We begin on Monday boy’s So yes spring’s eternal. Go Brewers!
